Spinning Lines for Textile Monofilament, Rafia and Strapping Tape

AGRIPAK’s expertise in monofilament and rafia spinning dates back to the pioneering years of plastic extrusion.

Our story began in the late 1950s, when Marco Terragni, our founder, and his company Covema, in collaboration with Montecatini (the first petrochemical company to industrially polymerize polypropylene), developed the world’s first monofilament spinning plants and rafia tape extrusion lines in their lab plant RIAP (Research on Industrial Application of Polyolefins) located in Zingonia (Bergamo – Italy) in cooperation with Montecatini (the first Petrolchemical company to industrially polymerize PP after professor Giulio Natta in 1953 polymerized PP in the laboratorium of the Politecnico of Milan. In the late 1950s Marco Terragni and Covema manufactured the first spinning plant for monofilaments and in 1962, at the Barcelona Exhibition, Marco Terragni and Covema displayed in production the first worldwide spinning plant for rafia.

Since then, Agripak has continued to innovate in the Extrusion-Spinning and Horizontal-Stretching sector, designing and building state-of-the-art equipment for the production of:

A Full Range of Spinning Technologies

We offer four main equipment families:

• WOVENTAPE – for producing woven rafia from PP or HDPE for textiles
• POLYTWINE – for extruding rafia for ropes and twines
• MOFIL – for producing monofilaments in PP, PE, PA, or PET
• PLASTICSTRAP – for strapping tape extrusion in PP or PET

Each line is customizable with stretching godet widths from 400 to 1500 mm, and integrates multiple key components:

• High-efficiency extruders, spin packs, T-dies
• Precision stretching and embossing units
• Optional fibrillation systems
• Smart winding units

Intelligent Automation & Cobrak.AI

All spinning lines are fully automated through a central PLC and a user-friendly software interface developed in-house by Agripak. Remote software updates and assistance are included as standard.
